Exchange Sidings - where the railways exchanged wagons from one company to another. The Barry railway had 4 up and 4 down exchange sidings at
Penrhos. Each siding held on average 80 wagons. The Barry also had similar exchange sidings at Energlyn and Trehafod and other railway companies
also had exchange sidings all over the UK.
